Lincoln Ikes Hunter Sight-In Day

Sunday, October 30, 2022
9:00 am3:00 pm
Lincoln Ikes Rifle Ranges 1, 2 and 4

Every year, our Lincoln Ikes hosts the annual Hunter Sight-In Days on the two Sundays before the start of the Nebraska Deer Rifle Season in the fall. We invite the public and our members to our annual Hunter Sight-in Days, and qualified coaches assist hunters to zero in their rifle, which is very important to the success of their hunting season. This is held on these scheduled dates from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on a first-come, first serve basis. This is the only time during the year that non-members can sight in their rifles.

We also encourage our members to volunteer for this annual event and need great volunteers to make it run smoothly. If you are interested in volunteering for this event, please contact our Club Office for more information.

Sight-In Event Rules & Information
All firearms (rifles, shotguns using slugs and handguns) will be inspected at check in. Please arrive at check-in with the firearm clear of ammo and bolt open. Each shooter will be assigned a mentor and bench on Range 2 after checking in and inspection. If a shooter is planning to shoot on Range 4 (200-yard distance), please mention at check in. To qualify to use Range 4, a maximum sized group of 3" at 100 yards from a Range 2 bench must be shot and signed off by your mentor for that firearm to be used on Range 4. The shooter will then need to purchase a ticket for that firearm at the check-in station before proceeding to
Range 4. Our mentors are experienced shooters from our club. The mentors will have optics to provide feedback of hit location for sight adjustments. Targets will be provided. Range Safety Officers (RSO) and other supporting staff will be on the ranges throughout the event. RSOs from our club will be working the shooting line to ensure the range is being used safely.

What to bring:
• Eye and ear protection that fit the shooter.
• Correct ammo for the firearm caliber, and preferably of a type used for hunting. We suggest bringing at least 2 boxes (40 shots) per firearm.
• Dress according to the weather for the day. It usually feels windier and colder at out here.
• Cash only please.
